Ronald Allan Frederick (Ron or Ronnie)

Ronald Allan Frederick was born on August 14, 1948 to Gordon Victor and Virginia Welch Frederick. Ron was a “cradle-to-grave” Floridian and raised in Sanford, Florida. He attended Lake Monroe Elementary, Sanford Junior High, and Seminole High School. He was fully involved in the High School Band program, playing clarinet, oboe, and bassoon. He was the Student Conductor of the Concert Band during his senior year. Ron passed away in Orlando on Sunday morning, January 19, 2020, from complications associated with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 71 years old.

As a young lad of 10 years old, Ron was fully involved in the viewing of Major League Baseball (New York Yankees specifically). His reaction to the loss of the Pennant Race or the World Series, which back in the day didn’t happen much, was catastrophic.

At the age of 13 he became an astronaut. The theme for the Sanford Christmas Parade in 1961 was “Looking to the Future.” The float entry for Lake Monroe Elementary required an astronaut and Ron took the assignment. A cardboard space suit was made, covered with aluminum foil, and Ron was strapped to the float for the “Ride of a Lifetime.”

Ron attended Florida State University and attained a Bachelor of Arts degree and was a member of the Delta-Chi Fraternity. He continued his education at University of Central Florida, attaining a Master’s Degree in Accounting and passing the Florida State Certification program to become a Certified Public Accountant.

Ron was the kindest and most gentle person you would know. He was always available to his friends for help and challenges, and the occasional party where he loved to dance the night away. Most importantly, he was always available to provide sage advice to his brother Richard (Rick). There are so many things to say and not near enough space to put them.

Ron leaves his cherished memory to his brother, Richard Frederick (Carol); two nephews, Christopher and Dean; his niece Dena and her daughter, Annabelle; step-mother, Ann Frederick; step-brother, John Michael Frederick; his beloved cousins, Donna and Kathy Kennedy and Sonja, Rhonda, and Tracey Echols and their families. He also leaves his beloved fiancé and caretaker, Bonnie Harrelson Sexton and her two sons, Greg Cozart (Thomas, Savannah, and Logan) and Jeffrey Cozart (Bridgett Neely-Cozart); and many other family members and close friends.

The memorial service is Saturday, February 1st, 11:00 a.m. at Grace Bible Church of Central Florida, 801 Dorscher Road, Orlando, FL 32818

Dorothy L. Pearson Brown

description

description

Dorothy L. Pearson Brown was born May 24, 1943 to Plummy Scarbrough and Susie Douglas in Birmingham, Al. She was high school valedictorian and graduated from Ullman High School in 1961. After graduating Dorothy soon married her high school sweetheart and started a family. The family relocated to Steubenville, OH in 1965 for better job opportunities. Shortly after giving birth to her third child Dorothy started a career in the retail business at Myer & Stone. She worked to gain strong knowledge of the Company’s overall operations which led to promotions and being recognized as a valuable employee. Although Dorothy was achieving success and growth working at a top retail store, she had dreams of doing more.  She wanted a leadership position managing a Fortune 500 company. After much research she found having a profession in the airline business would give her the type of career she was seeking.  Dorothy turned her dream into a goal by going to airline school where her dream became a reality when she graduated, yet again, with honors.

Dorothy started her next career with Air Wisconsin in 1983 at the Chicago Ohara Airport as a customer service agent. For 18 years through God’s grace, commitment, sacrifice and strong work ethics she achieved promotion after promotion. Dorothy prided herself; yet remained humble for achieving her career goals.  She retired in 2000 as Manager of Airline Operations and relocated to Orlando, FL where she resided until her death. In her leisure she enjoyed traveling with the family, playing slot machines at casinos, relaxing on the beach, and most importantly, spending quality time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by three children: Cassandra Pearson, Yolanda Pearson, and Anita Pearson; ex son-in-law: Lamont Ogletree; three sisters: JoAnn Scarbrough, Mary Atkins and Diane (Walter) Jones; one brother: John Foster; six grandchildren: Ryan Doyle, Earl Ogletree, Jasmine Pearson, Matthew Ogletree, Josh Ogletree, and Willie Smith; eight great grandchildren: Yazmarie, Ryan, Arianna, Andre, Willie, Isaiah, Cameron and Matthew, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Valori Jenkins Turner

Valeria Boese - Picture

On June 24th, 2019, early in the evening, Valori Jenkins Turner lost her battle to Pancreatic cancer just 10 months after her diagnosis.  She fought harder in those 10 months than most people fight in their entire lives.  She fought bravely and with grace.  She fought with an army of loved ones and she fought alone.
