Dorothy Zellers passed away March 31, 2022 in Apopka surrounded by her sons, daughter in law, and many nieces. Dorothy was born October 29, 1925 in Tampa to Irvin and Eva Bravo and grew up in Tampa before moving to Orlando following her marriage to Charles Zellers where she raised three children, Donald, Steve and Sharon. After retiring, Dorothy and Charles moved to Dunnellon where they spent 25 years enjoying life. Dorothy moved back to the Orlando area in 2016 and was living in Apopka at the time of her passing.
Dorothy was a retired Teacher’s Aide at Robinswood Junior High. More than anything in the world, Dorothy loved her family and loved cooking and baking. Whenever there was a get together with family and friends, her special coconut cream pies were always requested.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Donald Zellers and his wife Susan (Dunnellon), son Steve Zellers (Apopka), Granddaughters Natalie Zellers (Ocala) and Tracy Hafer (Beverly Hills), Great Granddaughter Alyse Hafer (Beverly Hills), sister Jessie Hill (Tampa) and her many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy is pre-deceased by her husband Charles and daughter Sharon.
At her request, a graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 6 at 11:30 AM at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
