Taylor Manning Archer

Taylor Manning Archer, of St. Cloud, Florida, passed away Friday, December 8th, 2023. A native of Demopalis, Alabama, Taylor was born November 17th, 1941, to parents Frances Tibbs Archer and Alexander Hamilton Archer III. In 1945, he moved with his family to Oakridge, Tennessee where he was a 1959 graduate of Oakridge High School. After graduating, he began working downrange for NASA at various radar facilities in the Bahamian Islands. Taylor received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at Jacksonville State University. It was in college that he met his beloved wife, Cecelia Annette Williams of almost 58 years. He enjoyed a long successful career in the aerospace and national defense industries allowing him and his young family to travel and live abroad.

He settled in St. Cloud, FL in 1982 where he poured his heart and soul into his family and extended family and to those closest to him. One of the roles he treasured most was “Geezer”, the name he chose and by which he was lovingly called by his adoring grandchildren. He was a lifelong Bama fan and enjoyed rooting them on at every opportunity.

Taylor is survived by his wife Annette Williams Archer; sister, Frances Anne Archer and brother, Dave (Terri) Tibbs Archer; children Tracy Kathleen Archer, Taylor “Ty” (Laura) Manning Archer Jr., Alison (Steve) Archer Partin; grandchildren; Seth Clyne Partin, Sybil Taylor Partin, Riley Frances Partin, Taylor Manning Archer III, Addison Anne Archer, and Alexandra Marie Parnica. He preceded in death his brother, Alexander (Winifred) (Murielle) Hamilton Archer IIII.

Memorial Services for Taylor were held on February 3rd, 2024, in Dayton, Alabama at the United Methodist Church which was first chartered in 1819 and cherished by past and present generations of the Archer Family. On this day he was laid to rest in his ancestorial Archer Family Cemetery where he joined his parents and more than six generations of family members that had gone before him.
