Kathleen “Kate” Margaret Kujat

Kathleen “Kate” Margaret Kujat, Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, age 73, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 21, 2021. She passed away at Spring Hills at Hunters Creek in Orlando where she had been battling Parkinsons Dementia.

She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 3, 1948, daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Miller.

In 1967 she married her childhood sweetheart Michael J. Mannifield. They lived in Philadelphia where they had two boys Michael and Kevin. In 1974 they moved to New Jersey and in 1978 they moved to South Florida to raise their two boys. They were divorced in 1991. In 1992 she then married the late Bruce Kujat in San Antonio, Texas.

She was a very brilliant woman who never settled on any grade less than an “A” throughout her education. She managed the unique challenge of raising her boys while still earning her Bachelor of Business Administration at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. Once in San Antonio she went back to college to earn a Master of Business Administration from University of the Incarnate Word and then decided to top off those two degrees by passing and becoming a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas.

She worked for four companies during her employment years. Air Ambulance in Fort Lauderdale, Texas Dental Plans in San Antonio, The Scooter Store in New Braunfels, Texas and retired in 2016 from CHEP USA, Orlando.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bruce Kujat, father Samuel Miller, mother Mary Miller, and sister Mariann Roach.

She is survived by her two sons: Michael Mannifield Jr. of St. Cloud, Florida; Kevin F. Mannifield (JoAnn) of North Brunswick, New Jersey; two sisters Dee Campbell of Hatboro, Pennsylvania; Peggi Heineman of Sunrise, Florida; Seven Grandchildren; Three Great-Grandchildren and her dog Jake.

She was a lifelong animal lover and adopted numerous dogs and horses into her home over the decades. Her four-legged babies always meant the world to her. Her and Bruce were passionate about helping horses avoid the kill buyers at auctions. Many animals were as lucky to have her in their lives as we were.

A Celebration of Life will follow later in Texas.

To honor her love for rescued horses the family suggests memorial donations may be made to triplememac.org or via PayPal to Tmmes@gvtc.com.
