James J. “Jim” Nyman
1933 – 2018
James Joseph Nyman passed away peacefully on July 21, 2018, following a short illness, at Oviedo Medical Center.
He was born on November 23, 1933, in Chicago, IL, the son of Reynold and Mary (Pepper) Nyman. On July 2nd, 1955 he married Joanne Marie Sorley and they remained devoted to each other until her death in 2014. Together they had one child, James Jr.
Jim was a draftsman in the heavy construction industry and worked on large scale projects such as power plants. He was an avid reader, especially history books, and enjoyed a good game of chess. On vacation, Jim liked to travel to historical sites that he had read about, like Gettysburg and Ft. Ticonderoga to name a couple. Jim especially enjoyed going to family parties, he was a true family man.
He is survived by his son James, his daughter-in-law Susan, 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be announced at a later date with a service and gathering.
