Olga Gonzalez, born on August 25, 1934, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, at the age of 90. She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth, strength, and vibrant spirit left a lasting mark on all who knew her.
Born to Gregoria Abreu Freire and Luis González Chirino, both of whom preceded her in death, Olga was also predeceased by her brother, Luis Gonzalez.
Olga was a woman of endless talents, resilience, and style. She had a deep love for cooking, always filling her home with the comforting aroma of traditional Cuban meals made from the heart. Her sewing machine was never far, she had a special gift for stitching love into every piece of fabric she touched. She worked hard as a waitress, where her humor and strong work ethic won the hearts of many.
Olga had a larger-than-life personality and a flair that made her unforgettable. She adored working on puzzles, had a passion for bold and bright colors, and could light up a room in her favorite animal-print outfit. Her love for big, sparkling jewelry and signature red lipstick became a beautiful expression of her joyful, confident nature.
She is lovingly remembered by the children of her late brother: Norma Gonzalez, Miriam Gonzalez, and Luis Gonzalez.
She is survived by her two sisters:
• Caridad Gonzalez, and her daughters Mercedes Carranza and Jennifer Cruz
• Alicia Gonzalez, and her children Rene Barba, Alexis Barba, and Alicia Barba
Olga leaves behind four devoted children and their families:

• Rafael Rodriguez, and his daughters Mikayla Lee Rodriguez and Rebecca Lynn Rodriguez
• Damaris Foon, and her children Veronica Vélez, Eliezer Vélez, Janessa Foon, and Ariana Foon. Eliezer is also the proud father of twin daughters Keia Vélez and Esra Vélez

She will be remembered for her bold style, her unmatched work ethic, her love of family, and her unshakable faith. Her memory lives on in every meal shared, every puzzle piece placed, every flash of red lipstick, and in the hearts of everyone lucky enough to have known her.
