Guerlain “Kit” Marie Carmedelle passed away peacefully in Orlando, Florida, on December 11, 2023 at the age of 94. She was married to the late Raymond Lee Carmedelle, her beloved husband of 64 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Henry Beaucoudray and Genevieve Kinler Beaucoudray, and her brother, Eugene H. Beaucoudray, Jr. Guerlain was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, where she was born on December 10, 1929.
Guerlain graduated from Eleanor McMain High School and from Newcomb College with a degree in history. She and Lee raised their four children in New Orleans and later lived in Denver, Colorado and St. Augustine, Florida. Guerlain was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be truly missed.
Guerlain is survived by her children, Joan (Rick) Schlottmann, Bruce (Cathy) Carmedelle, Jeannie (Dan) Frey, Paul (Barbara) Carmedelle; her grandchildren, Craig (Shannon) Schlottmann, Dawn (Sean) Reardon, Caitlin (Kelvin) Vuong, Andrew Carmedelle, Alex Carmedelle, Christopher (Chelsea) Frey, Teresa (Dylan) Conner, Catherine Frey, Julia (Emmanuel) Sanchez; and her great grandchildren, Henry and Genevieve Schlottmann, Vivienne Vuong, Margaret and Abigail Conner, and Kendall and Caroline Reardon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Historic Catholic Church, 4214 Loretto Rd., Jacksonville, Florida. Guerlain will be laid to rest alongside her beloved Lee at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
