Sharon Elizabeth Dye

Our mother has passed. She returned home to her mother and father, her brothers and sister. She was a tremendous lady full of heart, integrity, kindness and intelligence. She loved to live her life for others offering words of encouragement, a helping hand, a needed smile and all the time in the world to listen when you needed an ear.

Sharon Elizabeth Dye was a writer, a teacher, an activist, a friend, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a cousin, a niece and above all else a mother not only to myself but to anyone in her life who needed a bit of mothering no matter who they were.

I miss her. I know you miss her. We will keep her spirit alive in the stories we tell and the memories we cherish.

Miss Dye was a school teacher of mine at Barton elementary. We stayed in contact all the way up until I graduated high school and even afterwards. We lost contact. I was actually trying to get back in contact with her, catch up and I stumbled upon this so my heart is broken.

She took education seriously and believed in all of students. She meant so much to me and my mom…I really wanted to tell her about what’s been going on in my life and wanted to know what she was up to as well. Rest in peace Miss Dye I will never forget all the times I stayed after class, I still have all your gifts you ever gave me. I’ll always miss you.

    Brenda W.
