William (“Willie”) J. Passalacqua, 91, of Orlando, Fl, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on August 17, 2023 near his loving wife and with the assistance of Hospice in his home in Orlando, Fl. He was the husband of Harriet (Mikki) A. (Cline) Passalacqua, with whom he will have celebrated 21 years of marriage in November 2023. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the youngest son of 10 children of the late Sicilian immigrants, Pasquale and Giuseppa (Josephine Colletta) Passalacqua.
Bill was a Korean War Veteran, having served his country in the US Army. Using his life long, hands on skills, he later started his own home renovation business, from which he retired from in the late 80’s. He became a mentor and father figure to his 2 employees, brothers Kenny and Mike McHale.
Bill loved to dance, play bingo, go to musicals at Dr. Phillips Center with Mikki, spend time with his friends and make others laugh with his quick wit and unique sense of humor. He was also a wiz and loved playing along to Jeopardy on t.v. He was a member of the local Elks & Moose lodges, where he met his soulmate, Mikki at a single’s dance in 1996. Willie was also life-long Philadelphia Eagles fan (win or lose).
In addition to his loving wife, Mikki, he is survived by his step-son, Daniel Weil, husband of Patye Weil (Clouse-Burgess) of Altamonte Springs, FL; step-daughter, Debra Weil, wife of John Mauerman, of Orlando, FL; step-grand daughters Kelsey and Kyrie Burgess of Orlando, Fl; sister-in-law, Jane Chanody of Winter Park, FL; his numerous, dear nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Donald Cline and sister-in-law, Nina Cline (Thompson) of Richmond, England; and his beloved rescue kitty, Gracie P. He was predeceased by his 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Willie was greatly loved and adored by many.
There will be a private memorial service held at Compass Pointe Funeral Home, 743 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, Fl 32805. Pastor Steve Roseback will officiate. Bill will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Gotha, Fl.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bill’s name may be sent to either the Orlando Veteran’s Affairs Healthcare System (#675) or St.Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
